The best thing about this recipe is that you are likely to already have all the ingredients in the cupboard, and it makes the greatest looking pancakes with the least amount of effort possible. the below recipe serves 3
- 1 Egg
- 100g Flour
- 150ml Milk
- A little oil for the pan
- Plenty of fruit or bacon depending on your mood
- Hawkhead Whisky Smoked Syrup
Separate the egg into 2 bowls, add the flour and the milk to the yolk and beat until a smooth batter and then put to one side, Now take the other bowl with the remainder of the egg and whisk until your have a firm peak egg white (this is the real secret to amazing pancakes). Fold the egg whites into the bowl with your batter.
Heat a non-stick frying pan on a low heat with a little oil. just before you cook off your batter pour the oil into a cup for in-between batches. Cook your batter off by pouring enough batter into the pan to make an approx 8cm circle pancake. Flip when the top starts to create small holes, continue to cook until golden brown, if you find that the pan starts to stick then add the oil back to the pan then empty and repeat. To serve layer up with your choice of topping and don't forget a good helping of our Whisky Smoked Syrup.
