Launched in 2017 and situated within the old buildings of the historic Hawkhead Asylum (Glasgow), for which the company is named, Hawkhead Whisky Smoked cashews, salts and syrup are smoked by burning whisky barrel oak sourced from Scottish distilleries.
The smoking wood starts its journey in America as bourbon casks before shipping to Scotland to age whisky. When the casks age out, we break down the staves and burn them in our smokehouse to release the whisky within.
Winner of 5 Great Taste awards so far, the business has expanded to a unit in Paisley.
